THE CHALLENGE

The client needed to increase cluster elasticity and interface with the existing application, as well
as have the ability to incorporate automated decision-making and notifications based on business scale. Scaling the size of the data warehouse in AWS would take too long to complete using older technologies such as Enterprise mode.

A SOLUTION OPTIMIZED FOR CLIENT DEMAND

Beyondsoft’s cloud consulting team worked with the client using Vertica to conduct an EON Proof of Concept (POC). This was done by creating a single Terraform template for the Vertica infrastructure, as well as supporting resources on AWS. This provided the client with results of timing and performance statistics for all load and query tests. The team then performed a shootout of the various technologies used for querying a data lake, including Athena, Spectrum, and Vertica External Tables.
